SA-ITF Affiliation Statement
In its capacity as the Supreme Constitutional Structure of the South Africa International Taekwon-Do Federation, the National Council of the South Africa International Taekwon-Do Federation ('SA-ITF') hereby issues the following statement:
1. Since it's inception, the SA-ITF has been the South African affiliate and National Governing Body (NGB) of the International Taekwon-Do Federation, formerly under the Presidency of the late General Choi Hong Hi, Founder of Taekwon-Do.
2. General Choi nominated and appointed Mr. Chang Ung in the presence of all International TaeKwon-Do Federation Board Members, as his successor, thus passing his legacy to Mr. Chang Ung.
No objection by any Board Member thus present is on record.
Given the unique and complex circumstances pertaining to General Choi's succession, the SA-ITF National Council concluded that constitutional provisions determining General Choi's succession processes could not be followed by any party and all attempts in this regard since his passing have been imperfect.
3. The SA-ITF National Council, on 28 April 2003 by unanimous vote endorsed the SA-ITF Constitution to be changed as follows:
'The South Africa International Taekwon-Do Federation shall be affiliated to the International Taekwon-Do Federation (I.T.F.) which is based in Vienna, Austria under the legacy of General Choi Hong Hi, Founder of Taekwon-Do'.
The SA-ITF National Council endorsed the ITF Organisation under Mr. Chang Ung's Presidency as complying with this definition.
4. The SA-ITF National Council places on record its wish that the ITF would in future re-unite to again become the united organisation it once was.
